I was shocked at the amount of times I had to pause while reading this book to reflect as I personally teared up. Stefan's storytelling puts you directly in the room with him and his family as he paints one of the most emotional pictures on paper. An easy read and written in a way that will keep you vested throughout. Highly recommend to anyone that is of faith as it is the main theme throughout this book.

I really don't like books. I never have. They bore me and I can't get into them... BUT, this is one of the few exceptions I've made to sit down, focus and thoroughly enjoy every moment. Stefan's stories, the honesty, vulnerability and personality come through and make you feel like you're talking to an old friend.

We value not things by their rarity but by their actual worth. Books are common commodities; however, THE SHADOW ON MY HEART is a rare "valuable" jewel among jewels. You'll find yourself deeply engaged in at least five stories, not one! I completed this hard-to-put-down portrayal in one evening, seeing the memoir at times entertaining, thought-provoking, sorrowful, joyous, and riveting. You'll likely come away contemplating the worth and meaning of several episodes from your own life and heritage that add substance to who you are, that is, a part of something bigger.

Very heart wrenching and heart warming at the same time. Very honest, got to really know the author. I thought he did a fine job of writing about very painful experiences and let the reader really feel his pain. But also uplifting and positive. Thought the book was great
